Learn. Develop. Compete. Belong.
The Smithfield Basketball League Junior Competition is all about giving young players the opportunity to learn the game, develop their skills, make new friends and enjoy being part of a basketball team.
We welcome boys and girls of all experience levels, from players picking up a basketball for the first time through to experienced juniors looking for a competitive challenge.
Basketball for Every Level
We believe every young player should have the opportunity to play basketball in an environment that is positive, supportive and enjoyable.
Our junior competition is designed to provide:
-
Regular competitive basketball
-
Opportunities to develop individual skills
-
Quality coaching and support
-
Teamwork and sportsmanship
-
Friendships and social connections
-
A clear pathway through the junior age groups
-
Whether your child is just starting out or already loves the game, our goal is to help them become a better player while having fun along the way.
A Pathway for Young Players
We are particularly focused on building strong junior competitions across the key development years, including Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18.
As players grow and develop, we want them to have a clear pathway to continue playing, improving and challenging themselves.
Our aim is simple.... Join young. Develop your game. Build friendships. Keep playing.
More Than Just Basketball
Junior basketball is about much more than what happens on the court. It teaches young people valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, confidence, discipline, resilience and respect. It also creates friendships, memories and a sense of belonging that can last for years.
We want every player and family to feel welcome and connected to the Smithfield Basketball League community.
