A new home of basketball for Smithfield...
Smithfield Basketball League is a new competition built around a simple idea — creating a basketball environment where players of all abilities can enjoy the game, develop their skills, build friendships and be part of a strong basketball community.
Operated by Mulgrave Basketball Incorporated, Smithfield Basketball League represents the next chapter in our local basketball competition.
We are focused on creating a competition that is competitive, welcoming, well organised and enjoyable for players and families.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build a basketball competition that players are proud to be part of and families are excited to support.
We want to provide opportunities for players to develop at every level — from those picking up a basketball for the first time through to experienced junior players looking to challenge themselves and take their game further.
We believe basketball should be about more than winning games.
It is about developing confidence, learning teamwork, building friendships, challenging yourself and creating experiences that players remember long after the final siren.
Player Development
Player development is at the heart of Smithfield Basketball League.
We want every player to have the opportunity to improve, regardless of their current ability or experience.
Through quality coaching, competitive games and development opportunities, we aim to create a pathway that supports players as they progress through the junior age groups.
Great Coaching
Great competitions need great coaches.
We are committed to supporting our coaches and helping them continue to develop their own skills.
Our goal is to create an environment where coaches have access to resources, guidance and support, while also giving experienced coaches the opportunity to mentor and develop the next generation of coaches.
A Stronger Basketball Community
Smithfield Basketball League is about bringing people together.
Players, parents, coaches, volunteers and supporters all play an important role in creating a successful basketball community.
We want families to feel connected to the competition and to know that their contribution matters.
Whether you are a player, coach, parent, volunteer or supporter, there is a place for you within our basketball community.
Our Future
Smithfield Basketball League is being established with a long-term vision.
We want to build a competition that continues to grow, provides opportunities for local players and coaches, and becomes an important part of the local community.
We are committed to continually improving the way we deliver basketball — from player development and coaching to communication, competition management and the overall experience for families.
This is more than a new name. It is a commitment to building a better basketball experience.
